One day a professor came to Zen master Nan-Yin to learn about Zen. The master offered him some tea. When the cup was full, he continued to pour. The tea was overflowing over the edge.
- It's already full! No more will go in! - exclaimed the professor.
Nan-Ying replied:
- Like this cup, you are overflowing with your opinions and judgments. So how can I show you Zen unless you empty your cup?
Eckhart Tolle said, “The moment judgment disappears through acceptance of what is, you become free of the mind. Space for love, joy, and peace appears in your heart.”
To fill your life with joy and love, you must first make room for them. To cleanse your cup. To let go of the past. To stop judging. Just be!
